hAIku
A small change in a poem becomes a world to inhabit.
An audience member rewrites an AI-generated haiku. A virtual scene grows from the revised poem, a performer responds in real time, and the audience shares the performer's first-person view.
Web上に漂うAIの俳句に、鑑賞者が一言を加える。その俳句から生成された情景に演者がリアルタイムで応答し、演者の一人称視点が観客へと共有される参加型パフォーマンス。

Between a word and a world
A haiku leaves space for a reader to imagine a scene. hAIku makes that act of interpretation travel between an AI, an audience member and a performing body. A small intervention in language changes the environment in which someone else must act.
Rather than ending with a generated image, the poem continues into live performance. Each participant encounters a scene shaped by another participant's interpretation.
俳句は、わずかな言葉から読み手の中に風景を立ち上げます。hAIkuでは、その解釈をAI、鑑賞者、演者の身体のあいだで受け渡します。言葉への小さな介入が、別の誰かが身を置く世界を変えていきます。
生成された情景は完成した出力として終わらず、演者の即興的な応答へと続きます。言葉を変える人、世界を演じる人、その視点を受け取る人が、異なる仕方で一つの体験をつくります。

A performer responds to the generated environment in real time. Their first-person view is shared with the audience.

A shared viewpoint
The audience can both alter the world and witness how a performer inhabits it. The shared first-person view connects a brief act on a personal screen with a bodily response unfolding in real time.
Presented as an invited performance at the United Nations International School in New York in 2023.
鑑賞者は、世界を変える立場と、その世界を生きる演者の視点を受け取る立場を行き来します。個人の画面上での短い操作が、演者の身体を通じて観客全体の体験につながります。
